If you are a gamer playing League of Legends then you will surely come across the word “Ward”. We will start with some basics for new gamers starting from providing information about Ward and League of Legends Wards. There are several different types of wards in this game so you can choose between two jewels (Warding Totem and Oracle Lens) at the start of the game. Stop right here! Explore Wards now with us!
What is a ward?
You will always be encircled by the Fog of War (the area you cannot see) when playing any game. As you wander around the game or look at your minimap, you can see this. You can only see regions as you travel through them; there are no wards. Wards are objects that the player places in a location to provide them and their allies a view of the surroundings. When you first start the game, you can purchase various ward types.
Wards are really helpful tools that provide you a view of a location and can reveal vital information. No matter what function they play, everyone should contribute to monitoring. A game’s vision can make or break it.

Notes:
- Wards and stealthed traps affected by the Control Ward will be engulfed in a red static shock and lose ally sight they reveal in the fog of war until it is destroyed.
- A Control Ward has 4 health points and, after six seconds without being assaulted, regenerates 1 health point every three seconds.
- Control Wards Control Wards do not persistently reveal camouflage champions and instead perform periodic scans. The time between checks is long enough for camouflage champions to quickly disappear.
3. Stealth Ward

Visible: Yes
Health: 1

- Farsight Ward has a much smaller radius of sight (500) than other wards (900) and only 1 health.
- Using Farsight Alteration has a brief visual effect that the other team can see in the fog of war but not on the minimap.
- Farsight Wards do not count towards the max ward limit and are permanent, meaning an infinite number of either can be placed at any given time.
- Farsight Ward’s visual position can be seen by enemies even in the fog of war.
- Cooldown is reduced when using items in a hurry.
5. Ghost Poro
Grants sight over the surrounding 450 units. Cannot have its sight disabled. Is untargetable and will be scared away if an enemy champion comes near it.

Source: Ghost Poro
Notes:
- In modes where wards are disabled, Ghost Poro is exchanged for Eyeball Collection.
- Reaching 10 stacks grants a total of 18 bonus physical damage or 30 ability power (Adaptive).
- Ghost Poro doesn’t need to see enemy champions to be scared (like when they’re invisible or hiding in the bushes).
- When a Ghost Poro is frightened, it sends an anonymous danger alert to the team it has been summoned to at its location.
- Radius revealed around the active champion can’t see the terrain inside or scan from them.
- Fiddlesticks’ Effigies are considered a ward of this rune, and as such will spawn Ghost Poro when they expire.
6. Zombie Ward
Grants sight over the surrounding 900 units. Untargetable to allies.
Life Span: 120 seconds
Limit: No Limit
Visible: Yes
Health: 1
Bounty: Gold 1
Source: Zombie Ward
Notes:
- On modes where wards are disabled, Zombie Ward is exchanged with Eyeball Collection.
- Spawning 10 Zombie Eyes gives you a total of 18 physical damage or 30 ability power (Adaptive).
- The user does not need to explicitly damage a ward to make it spawn a Zombie Ward. If the ward is revealed from an effect that the user Zombie Ward is the source of. When it is destroyed, it is also considered ‘assist’ in ward destruction and will therefore spawn a Zombie Ward.
- Fiddlesticks’ Effigies are considered a ward of this rune, and as such can spawn a Zombie Ward when they are killed.
7. Effigy
Grants sight over the surrounding 900 units. Cannot have its sight disabled. Is also a clone. Reacts to nearby enemy champions with mutual vision.
Life Span: Scarecrow Effigy takes 130 to 280 (level-based) seconds to complete
Limit: No Limit
Visible: Yes
Health: 1
Bounty: Gold 3 and 37.2 / 46.4 Experience
Source: Scarecrow Effigy
Notes:
- Monsters, turrets, and minions all disregard effigies.
- Effigies are clones; they copy all of Fiddlesticks’ animations, stats, items, level, etc.
- Effigies are untargetable to everything except unit-targeted effects for the first 1.5 seconds of their lifespan.
- Hard crowd control will cause effigies to die immediately even if it did not deal any harm while it was in effect.
- Trinket items (Warding Totem, Oracle Lens, and Farsight Alteration) cannot be exchanged with Scarecrow Effigy.
- The cooldown is reduced by item haste.
- On the Howling Abyss, Fiddlesticks must feed a Poro with a Poro-Snax to gain access to the trinket for Scarecrow Effigy.
